Merles are NOT “unique markings” for the traditional Sheepadoodle. They are a color and coat pattern all their own and are priced accordingly as we stated in our new page introduced several weeks ago.
Many who follow our program are familiar with our beautiful double blue eye’d JoJo, who was born here and the daughter of our very own Ruthie & Max (retired). Ruthie is retired and still living here with us. Max is living with his new family being spoiled for the wonderful dog he is in Indiana. Max also has double blue eyes and Ruthie has one blue eye. However, in JoJo’s first two litters of Sheepadoodles (not with Gunner), she only produced one blue eye in one puppy. Go figure?
JoJo (AKC Old English Sheepdog) and Gunner (AKC Standard Poodle - see parents below puppy photos) had 12….yes 12 beautful puppies! 5 girls and 7 boys.
Since we recently returned from our second Alaskan Cruise and this litter was born the day after we left in the care of our dear friend, Diane Matthews ( www.ravenrockstandardpoodles.com ) we decided to go with a theme around our cruise. If you’ve never been to Alaska, please put it on your bucket list. You won’t regret it!
Special Note: We have two puppies with docked tails as noted by their photo description. This was not a change in our policies, but instead due to “crimped” tails they were born with likely caused by such a large litter. We’ve had crimped tails a few times in the past and often told they represented “good luck” by those that have had them in dogs of their past. After learning one of our customers with a puppy from us chose to “dock” a tail late in life due to a “crimp”, we decided to do it early as recommended so as not to have any of our puppies experience that trauma later in life again. Please remember, it is not our policy to dock our Sheepadoodle tails, but if it is your preference…here’s your chance!
