I’m so sorry, Mango……………..

“Mango" (Male - Lt. Blue Collar), Weight 4 Days = 1 lbs., 4 oz.

R.I.P. Sweet boy. I tried so hard to bring you back when I found you, to no avail. It was not God’s Will.

I found our sweet boy on one of my multiple checks underneath his siblings the day they turned a week old. He was in the sweet froggy position and I initially mumbled, “Good sign of good hips already!”. Then, as I went to move all the pups as part of my routine, I realized he wasn’t breathing. He was still warm. I grabbed him, gave him mouth to mouth, CPR, prayed…to no avail. It wasn’t meant to be. Although it happened a couple of days ago, I needed my time to grieve before sharing our loss. We always second guess our own practices and what we could have done to prevent it, but as with all animal husbandry, we can do our best….and with the cruelty of nature….our best is sometimes not enough. Please….do not judge me until you’ve walked a day in my shoes, lived my life, cared and loved my animals and my babies as much as I have for these last 10 years, and felt the heartache that I have felt when I already doubt myself, and realize….this is life. I’ve cried a river, and I don’t need the cruelty of judgmental human nature to add to my grief. It is nothing next to the grief of my dear sweet neighbor who lost her 20 year old son only weeks after being diagnosed with an incurable cancer. I held his hand just days before he died. Just one of those things that snaps us all into the reality of what really matters……..

I want to share with you a special picture given to my husband from our dear neighbor recently. This is JJ (Jesse), a childhood friend of my daughter’s and who recently passed at the age of 20. This photo was shot when he was still a little boy….riding the tractor/mower with my husband. My husband would help our neighbor, a single mom at the time, with mowing her lawn. I pray that Mango has been gifted to JJ in Heaven. They are both very special and beautiful.

Best Buttons

Meet our Buttons. We also have her brother, Splash. DOB 6/1/2016. This is her first litter. We look forward to equally beautiful litters in the future.

And introducing Ram! DOB 5/26/2016 Son of our now retired Boaz. Spitting image of him except for color. He’s also just a tad bigger than his dad, too! Same wonderful temperament.
